Aernout Schmidt has worked as a general consultant at Croon Davidovich Advocaten since 1 October 2006.

In that role he contributes in particular to legal analyses of cases in the field of intellectual property law and information and communication technology law.
Career
Aernout works as a professor of law and informatics at eLaw@Leiden, the Centre for Law in the Information Society of the University of Leiden (Law Faculty). He lectures in Cyberspace & Cyberlaw and investigates the legitimacy of IT services and their institutional embedding.
Education
Aernout studied Dutch law at the University of Utrecht.

Aernout has many publications to his name (see eLaw@Leiden). He is Chairman of the Board of Stichting Recht en Informatica in Leiden, a member of the ICT & Education University Committee and a fellow of the E.M. Meijers Instituut.
