Menno Schmidt has been a partner at Croon Davidovich Advocaten since 1 October 2006. Together with Kees Berendsen and Yonie Scheijde, he is in charge of the Information and Communication Technology and the Intellectual Property Law practices.
Expertise
Menno advises and litigates in the fields of e.g. copyright law, database law, software and software development contracts, licensing agreements, distribution agreements, domain names, supplier liability, ASP contracts, hosting and outsourcing agreements. Menno also regularly acts as an arbitrator on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce in all kinds of corporate law disputes.
Career
After graduating, Menno worked as a Registrar at various courts, including the Handelsgericht St. Pölten (Nieder Österreich) and the Bezirksgericht Liesing in Vienna. He also worked as a lawyer at the Rechtsanwaltskanzlei Dr. Friedrich Schubert in Austria. That experience has given Menno a large (legal) network in Austria. He speaks fluent German and therefore has a large number of German-speaking clients.

Before setting up the Croon Davidovich law firm with fellow lawyers in 2006, Menno had worked as a lawyer at two other law firms in Amsterdam since 2000.
Education
Menno studied law at the University of Utrecht and in Vienna. In 2004 he successfully completed the Grotius postgraduate course in IT law.
Publications
Menno regularly publishes and frequently serves as a guest lecturer. His thesis on ‘electronic auctions’ was published in Consument en recht.
